Position Description
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support Infrastructure Planning initiatives relating to Infrastructure demand, cost and utilization. On a day to day basis this individual will be responsible for producing and maintaining accurate and timely reports and data; collaborating with colleagues throughout the organization to understand and improve processes. The successful candidate will be able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and will be experienced with data analysis and independently driving small projects.
Responsibilities:
Manage Infrastructure Demand data collection processes, and make process improvements
Independently manage multiple simultaneous work efforts.
Manage day to day engagement with several key vendors, including administrative duties such as invoice processing, arranging QBRs, developing processes and communicating services roadmaps internally
Document plans according to appropriate best practices
Assign priorities to multiple competing activities quickly ad effectively balancing short and long term needs
Articulate financial and non-financial business impact of decisions, plans, issues and risks
Actively partner with Expedia's multiple business units and teams; and maintain productive relationships with teams and stakeholders in remote offices around the globe
Understand and work with data and data structures to improve capacity planning and reporting
Independently provide analysis and reports to support key decision makers
Develop communication and training materials that target a wide variety of audiences to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives
Qualifications:
Prior success as a Business, Systems or Reporting Analyst in Infrastructure
Experience and success with data modeling and capacity planning concepts
Background and experience with cost planning and estimation, a basic understanding of capital and expense processes
A history of success working effectively in a large cross-functional organization
Able to apply insights from other areas to solve problems effectively.
Demonstrate an ability to independently make good decisions related to his/her work stream based on incomplete or imperfect information.
Able to analyze information to assess gaps and identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiencies
Demonstrate understanding of ITIL process framework
Interface with internal customers throughout the organization to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
Identify opportunities for improving business processes.
Excellent process mapping skills and analysis, and creating management reporting
Experience with Process Development and Improvement utilizing methods such as Six Sigma/Lean/ITIL
Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and MS Project.
Experience with Data Center Infastructure capacity planning a plus
Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodology experience, a plus
Core Competencies:
Strong Collaboration skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong documentation skills.
Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
3 years related experience as a technology analyst or engineer
Bachelors degree in related field
ITIL, Six Sigma and/or Project Management Certifications a plus
